MS3L welcomes students and researchers who are interested in membrane science, sustainable separations, and process innovation for chemical, energy, and environmental systems.
What you would take on
People who want to own a separation problem from the first idea to the unit that runs it.
Sustainable separation process design
Most of our work has no standard unit operation to start from. The open question is what the separation train should be, not which membrane goes into someone else's.
Scalable material development
Membranes made for the feed they will actually meet: selective between ions of the same charge, stable in solvent and heat, and still good when made by the metre.
Proof of concept and pilot demonstration
We run our own pilot. Work here has gone from a coupon to a continuous skid, and from a skid to plant designs industry has bought.
Positions we host
Graduate students
M.S. and Ph.D. study through the UST Advanced Materials and Chemical Engineering programme, based at KRICT in Daejeon.
Postdoctoral researchers
Fixed-term research posts at KRICT, normally attached to one of the group's funded projects.
Internship researchers
Internship master researcher posts for degree holders, and visiting students who want to try the work before committing to it.
How to reach out
Start with a short email
A short email is enough to start - no formal application package, transcripts, or recommendation letters needed at this stage.
- 1A short resume (one or two pages is plenty)
- 2A few sentences on what you would like to work on and why MS3L
Where to send it
